FAQ

Common questions.

Is Atlas Lite really free?
Yes. Atlas Lite is a free home for every digitised file, with the Library, folder structure and private sharing. You also get 3 free AI indexes to spend on any videos or photo folders you choose. After that, indexing more is £4.99 per item (£7.99 with AI enhancement), or you can move to Atlas Archive for unlimited indexing.
What does “indexing” actually do?
When Atlas indexes a video or photo folder it reads the content — recognising faces, places and moments — then writes a description, finds the people, maps the places and drafts timelines. Un-indexed media still plays at original quality; indexing is what turns the archive into something Atlas understands and can search.
When does Atlas Archive launch?
Atlas Archive opens to everyone on 26 June 2026. A small group of customers is being invited in early ahead of that. Atlas Lite stays free throughout — you move up to Archive whenever you want unlimited indexing, and nothing you have already done is lost.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Atlas Lite is free, so there is nothing to cancel. Atlas Archive can be cancelled from your account in two clicks; your archive stays accessible for the rest of the billing period, after which it is archived (we keep the files but pause the features) for 90 days before deletion.
Do you ever delete my media?
Never without warning. If you cancel and do not reactivate within 90 days, we contact you twice before any deletion. You can always download your original files.
Will my family need their own subscription?
No. You can share specific media, timelines or your whole archive with family via free, view-only links. They do not need an Atlas account.
Where is my archive stored?
In the UK, on UK-owned infrastructure. We back up to a second UK site. No US server detours, no third-party training data feeds.
Do you train AI on my media?
No. Your archive is yours. The AI Atlas uses reads your material under contract, then forgets it. See our AI addendum for the precise wording.

Ready when you are.

If your tapes have been digitised, your archive is already waiting.
